Hot

And I'm not talking hawt men either. It rapidly turned into summer here in central California. Last two days have been one hundred degree, sweltering heat.

Ugh. Too soon I say.

Doesn't that look cool and refreshing? It sure does to me. And it's only mid-May! I don't think it should be this hot until June at least. I went swimming yesterday - I believe this is the earliest yet for me! It sure felt good, though. Thank goodness we have the pool...

Funny thing is, I grew up in heat like this. One hundred degree-plus summers every summer. You think I'd get used to this.

I'm not. I wanna move to Oregon. Or somewhere with a cooler climate. Somewhere like that graphic above.

Does it get boiling hot in your neck of the woods during the summer or are you lucky and dont' have to deal with it? Do you want to move like me? Share.

In the PNW it gets reasonablely hot in the summer, but here, in the Gorge, it gets super hot (seriously, I swear it is hotter than Seattle) during the summer (over 100 degrees). The way our house is situated, I can't send the boys out until 3:30 or 4 because we have no shade.

It was awful here, too. And our new house doesn't have AC. I spent two days staring at the TV because my brain literally melts when it goes over 90. I swear, I literally feel myself perk up like a watered flower when the sun goes down and the fog rolls in. Luckily, up here at least, it's supposed to get down to the low 80's. Thank god! I've got a book to write and I can't afford to lose all these days from the heat!

I wish I could take it better. I don't know where you can go to get mild summers. From what I understand, practically the whole rest of the country gets humidity that we don't have to deal with here in CA. That would kill me!

Rarely 100. I'm in Canada, so yeah my summer's look like that graphic you have. LOL!

Though I wish I had a pool.

I'm in Austin, TX and it gets VERY hot in the summer. But I'm a teacher so once school's out I go on vacation or go stay with friends/family out of town.

I'm in middle GA so we get all four seasons. July and August are typically our hottest months but it's the humidity that makes it hard to deal with. A pool lounger and good book takes your mind right off the weather though!

I am so thankful I don't get humidity. I guess I should be quiet cos at least our summers are dry...

But they're still so *&#$ hot that sometimes I can barely stand it. Today is supposed to be another 100 degree day. I took my kids to the bus stop at 7 a.m. - it was 80 degrees according to my car...

Lori I would die without A/C. Maybe you should get a wall unit or something cos you shouldn't suffer like that, seriously.

Here in North Texas it gets up to 105- 110 in late July early August. We have A/C and ceiling fans. I am a HORRIBLE big baby when it comes to being hot. I hate it. One time my A/C broke and it took a day to get it fixed, I put on my swimsuit and got in a cold shower. I stayed damp all day. Lori, I recommend this for you, it works to get my brain back. The only good thing about a Texas summer is swimming. We have a LOT of waterparks close by and I take the kids at least once a week somewhere to swim and slide and enjoy a snowcone. Summer nights are the ebst: fireflies, clear full moons, and don't forget Mars is going to be getting closer and closer (and bigger and brighter) until August 27 this year. So enjoy the few good things about summer. Fireworks, fireflies, stars and moon and Mars!

I live in the mountains of PA we only have a few days in the 90's, it usually in the low 80's. Today it hasn't even hit 50!

In central Texas, it's already close to 100-- and will go above it by early June. It stays in the 90s-100s until mid-October or November (depending on the year) so yes, I know what it feels like to have my brain melt. It was in the high nineties all last week, but on Saturday it rained and it's been in the 70s since. I'm in shock, but it's a good shock!

I wish we had fire flies in CA! Long time ago when my brother was little (4 I think) we went to Disneyland and were on the Pirates of the Carribean. The beginning of the ride, with the old guys on the front porch of the little house, and there are fire flies buzzing around, my bro yells out, "Look! Fire fleas!"

We still call them that. LOL

Here near Chicago, we have had the wettest start to the year since 1975 and the second wettest on record. The weather here is between 40-65 degrees and I am freezing my ass off before and after work. In fact, I am now wearing a long sleeved t-shirt, cashmere turtleneck sitting under a blanket. The weather feels more like late March.

But when it does heat up, we get between 80-90 for summer weather with really high humidity--it makes the corn grow tall.

Did somebody say NO A/C?!

I think my A/C runs from April through Halloween. My wallet does not appreciate the electricity bill. Yes, I've thought about moving!

As I'm in FL, yes, it gets plenty hot here. I don't mind it though. I love a dip in the pool during the day or better yet, a night swim.

I'm in Nashville and it gets really hot in the summers. A couple of years ago we have 25 days straight of temps over 100. We only stayed in the high 90's last year, but my a/c still tends to run non-stop from about June to late August. Of course, Spring and Fall is so nice(highs in 60's lows in 40's) I can deal with the few months of hot days.

Lori, how do you make it without an A/C unit?
